SAFETY ASPECTS
New security in the context of inventions without standardized testing and certification regime:
Products whose use is not authorized by a building or fire codes often lacks a consensus testing, as ASTM 2007, which is used to test the fire resistance of walls and floors. Unless there is a test in existence to prove the functionality and reliability of such a product, there can be no certification list, and thus no bounding.
These new products can be seen as optional, or go beyond the requirements of a code. The lack of an established test for a new invention is an unfortunate and huge obstacle to commercial success for each new product safety because of the inertia to assemble a consensus standard by an accredited standards writing organization, which, in turn assemble a group of volunteers, the industry experts have to commit to time and cost in the coming together in one place, ever again, to develop and ratify a standard, which must then have at the national level by a national authority.
Apart from the time when they are, it also requires all potential competitors to be vigilant in terms of a new opportunity or potential threat to the existing technologies. Also, without a certification list, it is extremely difficult to market all security-even point if there is no other like it, because there is no universally accepted proof of their functionality and therefore insurance protection in the event of failure of the product or installation. Latest techniques, the inventor or customers or suppliers or contractors own test results are usually not convincing, no matter how well intentioned, because they have a vested interest, but most importantly, do not have the national accreditation for the examination to be taken seriously, one company, or insurance agencies.
