6. TOWN CONSTRUCTION

The word town construction expresses in scarce form, for which it stands; for the building of cities. The town construction is concerned, contrary to architecture, not with draft or organization of individual buildings, but with ensembles, settlements or public areas. Town construction is thereby the formative part of the town planning.

The tasks of the constructurer:

To the building the among other things following aspects, which the town constructioner must consider, belong to a city or town the suitable situation of a city, e.g. in the territory, at rivers, to borders, to neighbour cities and areas.

- the condition and availability of the soil
- the fundamental form of the settlement, i.e. the form and arrangement of the roads, building fields thus the city morphology.
- the arrangement of the city into building ranges, zones which can be kept free park, green areas, air flight corridors, cemeteries, sports areas
- the classification into the topography
- the three-dimensional shape of the city; the open, closed land development, seperate the height into graded ranks, focuses, city silhouette, creation of an area concerning town construction by roads and places
- Number and hierarchy of the centers in the city main centres, secondary centres, quarter centers, local supply centers
- urban infrastructure how: the supplying possibilities with water, heating material, the protection against wind, overheating, the disposal of waste water, wastes
- Hierarchy of the areas,place systems or a mainly places.

To the TOWN CONSTRUCTION conceptually in addition, the structural alteration in the town and the urban redevelopment belong, because also here the function and shape of the three-dimensional physical structure have a great importance.
