SUBSECTIONS OF THE BUILDING INDUSTRY
2. FOUNDATION ENGINEERING AND INFRASTRUCTURE
The foundation engineering is the field of activity of the building industry, which is concerned with planning and establishment of buildings, which are to be built at or under the earths surface.
A certain exception forms thereby the building of bridges, which are likewise counted as part of traffic routes to the foundation engineering. The term foundation engineering serves in particular as demarcation for the area of the above ground construction.
Planners of the foundation engineering are essentially the civil engineers. Architects are consulted only with special formative tasks. Implementing building contractors can be special enterprises, only in the foundation engineering actively are or also enterprise, which can implement both trades in the high and in the foundation engineering and cause also knowledge in the foundation engineering.
The most important elements of foundation engineering are:
Foundation engineering
Tunnel construction
Drains
Railway construction
Special foundation engineering
Construction of roads and road
Earthwork
Bridge construction
Hydraulic engineering
Water management of settlements

3. HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING
The hydraulic engineering covers all measures, which have the utilization of the water or the protection from effects of the water as objective.
In particular the hydraulic engineering covers the following subsections:
Waterway construction like e.g. harbor construction, river construction, navigation channels, air-locks, constructions about elevating works
Agricultural hydraulic engineering like e.g. and drainage engineering, constructions about erosion protection, landscape protection, game water sheeting
Hydraulic engineering in settlements buildings for the water en and disposal such as water supply, drains, building of purification plants
Hydromechanics like e.g. hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, tubing hydraulics, coagulating hydraulics, hydraulic systems
Hydrology like e.g. Hydrometrie, hydrology
Coastal engineering like e.g. coastal and flood protection, coastal engineering, building of offshore
Energy hydraulic engineering like e.g. building of hydroelectric power plants, dam construction, gallery construction transition gallery
Waters development like e.g. river engineering, flow control, building of water retaining structures, water reservoir etc.
