[Construction - Section 159]
BITUMEN< prefix = o />
BITUMEN AS ISOLATION MATERIAL
Because of these properties, materials made of bitumen are used as it often insulation material in the construction industry.
APPLICATION
The building materials made of bitumen, for example, to protect buildings against water are used. They bitumen coatings for use bitumen or different materials, such as bitumen roofs roofing. These are made with bitumen soaked cardboard hergesellt and similar materials from felts. They exist as materials from bitumen; These are the so-called carrier-sided bitumen deposits cover layers, or as a polymer bitumen railways; These are the so-called elastomer (PYE) and the so-called Plastomer- (PYP) bitumen tracks.
At the ground floor or basement exterior insulation comes inter alia, the thick bitumen coating is used. This thick coating is the technical term for multi furious layers of plastic modified bitumen emulsions. One finds it as for example Bitumen elastomer polymer and bitumen.
The bitumen matter is derived from petroleum. There is a virtually non-volatile, sticky and dichtendes product. It comes in the form of distillation and shows a temperature dependent and elastic and viscous behavior. Only in toluene, it is completely or nearly completely soluble and comes in natural asphalt. Bitumen is normally, for example In water, not soluble.
